The most beautiful opal in the world, called the "Virgin Rainbow", this magnificent opal was discovered in 2003 in the opal fields of Cooper Pedy, South Austalia. This psychedelic beauty is worth more than $1 million. And over 12 years later this precious stone will be on exhibit for the first time ever at the South Australian Museum in Adelaide in September.

"It is ironic that in the most harsh of terrains the most beautiful of naturally occurring gems are now found," says Brian Oldman, the director for the South Australia Museum. "This is an exhibit literally millions of years in the making because these opals were formed back when dinosaurs walked the Earth and central Australia was an inland sea."
